Flowster
Flowster's web app was so complex that only long-time users, trained by the owner, understood it. Creating a new workflow was the hardest part, and many users relied on workarounds to make it behave. Every new user needed hand-holding, so the product couldn't scale. I led the audit and redesign: we turned the common workarounds into real features, fixed the usability problems in the workflow builder, and simplified sign-up and onboarding.
Rise Gardens
Audited and redesigned the mobile app for Rise Gardens' indoor hydroponic gardens. The app had to mirror the physical garden and stay in sync with it. Its controls measured pH and water temperature, dispensed nutrient mixes based on those readings, tracked each crop's growth stage, and monitored the water level so growers knew when to refill the tank. The job was to simplify those controls without losing anything growers need.
American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST)
Led design of physical and digital products for CHEST, including a toolkit for COPD patients starting oxygen therapy. The kit held oxygen care guidelines and pre-printed copies of the medical forms patients most often need. It also had spare parts and flash cards with tips and lessons from people already on oxygen therapy.
Brunswick
Ran attitudinal and behavioral research to validate the redesign of Brunswick's connected boating products. Two findings shaped the work. Most boat equipment follows no standard guidelines, which made standardized installation instructions for smart boat technology very hard to write. And owners wanted to monitor their battery and bilge pump remotely. Qualified mechanics are scarce and often take days to arrive, so owners wanted to catch a problem early instead of on the day they planned to go out.
NewFounders
Head of product design at NewFounders, a startup working to reform voting systems nationwide. We built a mobile app that made it simple to track upcoming local, state and national elections and find your polling place.
Amenify
Led an audit and end-to-end redesign of Amenify's SaaS app while the company was at risk of financial collapse, including the onboarding and scheduling flows and the product dashboard.
